About Fay

Darlene “Fay” Tate has obtained responsible and challenging positions in the business field; she is the driving force behind the organization and fills the Founder/Executive Director role.  She frequently and in the pass, has experienced temporary homelessness and feels her experiences will have a significant impact in raising the profile of a Homeless Shelter within the community.

Homeless and Foster Care individuals somehow lose their way in the process of becoming stable individuals and becoming healthy members of society. When there is no one to turn to in their time of need, their cry for help is sometimes never heard when the unthinkable starts to emerge. When he/she has no understanding in the concepts of what the streets could result to when there’s no positive direction, thriving through can be somewhat away out of no way. For every 125 displaced youth/young adults there is only one bed available within a shelter. Most shelters have limited open beds for the homeless and more so if an individual does not meet the current time of entry into a shelter for an open bed, he/she is left on the street. Homeless individuals get turned away from shelters because the facility is full. With your support we will make a difference for many of our homeless youth and young adults transitioning into becoming productive members of society. EDJES Homeless Youth Shelter goal is to secure a home for many, many years to come to house male/female ages eighteen through twenty-four. Donations of any size are welcomed and will be deeply appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and contribution.
